RATES

I am not a middleman at the market, the rates I offer are lower than those offered by the translation agency. Apart from favourable prices, I include reliability, timeliness, confidentiality and knowledge of cultural codes of the USA in the package. Although I live in the outskirts of Lodz, I work in the very centre of the city. If you are not from here, no worries - I provide online translations as well. You can contact me via email and send me texts to be translated as a photo or a scan. If the service concerns certified translations, I am obliged to see the original documents. The price of both certified and non-certified translations is based on the number of characters. Certified translations include 1125 characters with spaces (about half a page A4). If they are ordered by courts, police or other state authorities their price is fixed by the regulation of the Minister of Justice and amounts to: PLN 34.50/ EN-PL or PLN 45.11/ PL-EN (1125 characters) (Regulation of the Minister of Justice of 8 October 2019 amending the Regulation on remuneration for the activities of a sworn translator/Journal of Laws of Poland) 2019 item 1975). The prices of certified translations conducted for private entities and clients are determined individually by a translator depending on the scale of difficulty, clarity and amount of text.

I have been a certified English-Polish/Polish-English translator since 2005. I have been doing certified translations (also referred to as sworn translations) in the institutions of state authorities, such as: court, police, prosecutor's office, civil registry office, Social Insurance Institution and Tax Office, as well as in medical centres, banks or universities. As a certified translator I am a person of public trust - which means I am bound by professional secrecy. I specialize in translating official documents and providing certified copies of such documents. I also certify translations made by the third parties. A certified translator knowledge and skills are always verified - either in the process of the official state examination or, as it was before, by the president of the district court, which happened to be my case. Like every other certified translator, at the end of the translated text I put a formula in which I confirm the compliance of the translation with the original copy of the document; I enter a current date, a number under which the certified document appears in my repertory, I put my signature and stamp the document with an official seal. It contains the name of a certified translator, the language he or she is authorised to translate, as well as the number on the list of certified translators, which can be verified on the government list of translators here:

  • articles
  • books
  • marketing slogans
  • movies subtitles
  • copywriting
  • non-certified documents
As an English translator I carry out various tasks related to English. The more creative, unusual the more eager I am to take part in it. Example? I had a great pleasure to assist in translating Anna Liminowicz's photographic project "Between the Blocks", which has won recognition of the New York Times. I have also translated art memoir of Andrzej Styka, a descendant of a well-known Polish family of painters, which contains unique family archives, letters and press reviews never published before. I have cooperated with Angora and National Geographic Polska for whom I translated press articles. As a freelancer I worked for a local TV station studio where I provided Polish subtitles to English or American documentaries. Another task of mine involved translation of book reviews for the Warsaw Institute of Reportage or creating Polish and English advertising slogans for the Volt Scooters start-up which has introduced electric scooters to the streets of Lodz. As a member of the TEDx conference team in Lodz, I supported translation works and cooperation with foreign speakers who came to perform at our stage. I also do interpreting during official ceremonies and conferences.

I help foreigners who visit Poland and want to find their ground at unknown territory. I assist them at the office, doctor, bank or archive and make their life easier in the world of local laws, bureaucracy, customs and mentality. I make sure their business is seen to. I can also serve as a tourist guide. In the field of journalism, I work as a fixer - I help journalists from foreign newsrooms to find characters, to conduct interviews, to obtain relevant documents and do research.
